Kizad Industrial Zone

The Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi or Kizad is a project of the Abu Dhabi Ports Company and is expected to play an important role in the economic development of this city in UAE. Kizad falls under the regulations of the Ministerial Resolution No. 88/2006. Among the greatest advantages of the Khalifa Industrial Zone are its geographic position and the low operating costs, which are vital elements when wanting to attract foreign investors.

Why set up a Company in Kizad?

The Khalifa Industrial Zone in Abu Dhabi occupies a 417 square kilometers area strategically located halfway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Kizad is divided into two areas: A and B. While Area A is dedicated to businessmen activating in the industrial sector, Area B addresses commercial companies.

However, the most special and unique characteristic about Kizad is the fact that it is the first industrial zone in the UAE offering both free zone and non-free zone status. This way, foreign investors may choose the suitable type of business to register in Kizad. Both statuses provide benefits with respect to customs schemes.

Companies registered outside the free zone will fall under the regulations of the Abu Dhabi Companies Act. Companies registered within the Khalifa Industrial Zone will be governed by the Abu Dhabi Free Zone Authority’s regulations. No matter the status of the Company, Kizad provides more property rights to foreign investors than other UAE free zones.
